Christmas has become such a big holiday that it’s important to start planning for it months in advance. And in doing so, you can do some fun crafts with your kids to get ready for the big day!

Making your own stockings is a lot of fun. You should be able to find blank stockings at your local hobby store. Then get some fluffy paint in paint bottles and let your kids decorate their stockings, making them personalized is a lot of fun for the kids. You can also have them write their names in glue, then sprinkle glitter on the glue so their names are sparkle.

Making your own ornaments for your Christmas tree is also a lot of fun. Just like with your stockings, you can use glue and glitter, puffy paint. Or you can glue different colored strings or confetti on there to make your ornaments extremely unique and special.

At some craft stores, you can even get customized wrapping paper. So you could wrap all of your kid’s presents in wrapping paper with pictures of themselves, so they can easily find their presents on Christmas morning. Of course name tags work too, but customized wrapping paper is a lot more fun!

You can make a scrap book with your kids for Santa too. Have your kids write a letter to Santa and leave it with the cookies and milk for him to take with him. You could also have them write a letter about how good they’ve been, what presents they want and why they deserve those presents. This will encourage them to behave, at least until Christmas morning.

Speaking of milk and cookies, you could bake personalized cookies with your kids, let them decorate the cookies for Santa and maybe even use Christmas cookie cutters to get in the spirit of Christmas.
