Because of the increasing rate of obese children, parents should do their part and engage their kids in fitness activities. A lot of fitness activities are becoming popular nowadays in order to help children to stay physically fit.
The culture and lifestyle nowadays are evolving as evidenced by modernization. More and more children are engaged to sedentary lifestyle rather than becoming physically active. A lot of children go to school by car because they are dropped off by their parents. Most children would also rather watch their favorite cartoons and other television shows rather than playing outside. The popularity of game consoles also has a major contribution to the sedentary lifestyle of children. In addition, school sports aren
After school gets out, kids have nothing to do all day, for months. If they have nothing to do, they’re going to bug you about it so it’s a good idea to come up with things for your kids to do during summer months now.
The best way to keep your kid happy during the summer is to have him or her find a new hobby and really get into it. My favorite thing to do during the summer as a kid was to take karate and taekwondo classes. I started one summer and when I wasn’t in class I was at home practicing routines and moves so I could get to a black belt quickly. And if your kids were like me, this will turn into a full-time activity, even during school years.
You could come up with a big project for them to work on an hour or two each day, and hopefully they’ll have something cool finished by the end of summer. I used to work with my mom in her garden for an hour or so a day, and by the end of the summer I had my own beautiful creation of plants and flowers on my side of the garden.
If you or your kids aren’t into gardening, that’s okay. You could work on building an awesome tree-house throughout the summer with your kids. Or if you’re a handy-man you could build a go-cart by the end of summer even if you only worked on it for a few hours per week.
Sports are a great way for kids to pass time, so if you keep a collection of soccer balls, tennis balls and rackets, baseballs and everything else, your kids will be able to pass a lot of time just playing sports. This has the added advantage of getting your kids to exercise ans stay fit.
Summer is here and your kids are probably just about out of school, ready to spend their 3 months off of school having fun. And what’s a better way to have fun than playing in the water on those hot summer days. Let’s go over some of these great activities.
Super Soakers were a hit 10 years ago, and they’re still a hit today. They’re large plastic guns you fill with water and squirt your friends with. Kids come up with all kinds of different games to play with these.
The Slip and Slide is another fun one. You hook your hose into a long plastic sheet, and your kids run and slide all the way down it, slipping and sliding. This one can be a little dangerous to very young kids, so read the warnings before using.
Taking your kids to a public swimming pool, or buying a swimming pool for your house is always a win for kids. Everybody loves to swim so having a swimming pool close to the home is important. You don’t need to spend a lot of money to get one in your own backyard, the big plastic pools only cost around $100 dollars.
Water balloon fights go great with Super Soakers. They’re like grenades filled with water, fill up a bunch of these and give half to each team and let them shoot water at each other and battle with water balloons. Try to buy thin water balloons so they break easier. If you get hit with a balloon and it doesn’t break, it can hurt quite a bit.
There are so many different ways to incorporate water fun into the activities your kids do during the summer. Some of them cost money but a lot of them are cheap or free, and playing with water on a hot day is the best way to keep your kids happy!
Getting your kids involved in sports is a very important part of your parenting and your kid’s childhood. No matter what kind of sport it is, all sports teach kids important life lessons as well as keeping them healthy.
Obviously some of the most popular sports include football, soccer, baseball and. basketball. Even though all of these sports are different, they all have a lot in common. Each of these sports is a team sport, and it requires a lot of teamwork on and off the field to win. And every kid wants to win.
In football, whether you’re playing offense or defense, your entire team has to communicate and be on the same page and work together to win. Working together and cooperating with others is an extremely important part of life, especially when you get older, and this is a great thing to learn young. Encourage your kid to take a leadership role on their team, this will give them confidence and increase their communication skills.
Because all of these are team sports, they require constant team meetings and workouts, usually around 3 a week (not counting real games). This constant running and exercising will help keep your kids in shape and healthy without much effort. And with obesity becoming such a problem in younger kids today, playing sports it the perfect way to combat that problem. Plus you can start encouraging them to eat healthier under the guise of saying it will help them do better in their sports.
This is also a great way to find new friends and people for your kids to depend on. I know personally when I played football as a kid, I met a lot of amazing and interesting people, a lot of whom I’m still friends with today. Sports aren’t only great for your mind and body, but they teach life lessons that your kids will use for the rest of their lives.
Trying to keep your kids happy and busy isn’t always an easy task, especially in this economy. But you don’t have to spend a lot, or any money to give your kids a good time getting some fresh air and playing outside. Here are some fun and free things for your kids to do.
Tag is a great game. Just get a few of your kids friends together and let the play hide and seek tag outside for a couple hours. It’s very easy, make a small “home base”, everybody hides while 1 person counts to 20. Then he goes to find the people who are hiding, and the first person he tags is the next counter.
You should also keep a wide variety of sports balls at your house like a soccer ball, a football, a baseball and maybe some tennis balls. This way your kids can be physically active for a while, and if they get bored of soccer they can move on to the next sport for a while.
If you happen to have a pet dog, having your kids run around outside with him is always a great idea. But you can take it a step farther and try to get your kids to teach your dog new tricks, or even teach him to run an obstacle course like the dogs on television do. Since teaching a dog new tricks usually takes time this can be a great distraction, let’s just hope the dog shows enough progress so your kids don’t get bored!
If you have a big tree somewhere in your yard, your kids could try to build a tree-house outside, but if they do this you should be sure to supervise them the whole time so nobody gets hurt, either from falling out of the tree or having some type of falling object land on them. This can be dangerous so if you’re not going to supervise, don’t let them try to build a tree house.
